Biometric authentication uses fingerprint/face recognition instead of your email and password to re-enter the app after 1 hour of logging in or after quitting the application. If you manually log out you will need to login with your email and password again.
If your Biometric authentication is not working, use the steps below to reset the security setting.
For iOS users:
- On your iPhone, open the Settings app
- Scroll down and select BlockFi
- Turn the switch next to Face ID or Touch ID - OFF
- Open your BlockFi app
- Login to the app without biometrics
- In the app, tap Settings
- Select Security
- Turn the switch next to Face ID or Touch ID - ON
For Android users: Please note the instructions may vary slightly depending on the model of the Android device you are using
- Access the App Tray
- Navigate to Settings Icon
- Search and tap Biometric and Security
- Tap Face Recognition or Fingerprints
- Enter PIN
- Tap Face Unlock or Fingerprint Unlock to disable
- Open your BlockFi app
- Login to the app without biometrics
- In the app, tap Settings
- Select Security
- Turn the switch next to Biometrics - ON
